Patty Wetterling (MN-06) is on the air with an ad hitting Republicans hard on the Mark Foley scandal:
It shocks the conscience. Congressional leaders have admitted covering up the predatory behavior of a congressman who used the internet to molest children.
For over a year they knowingly ignored the welfare of children to protect their own power.
For 17 years Patty Wetterling has fought for tougher penalties against those who harm children.
That's why she's demanding a criminal investigation and the immediate expulsion of any Congressman involved in this crime and cover-up.
I'm Patty Wetterling and I approve this message.
This is the kind of ad Democrats everywhere should start using to turn the Foley incident into a Democratic wave. That Wetterling's son Jacob was abducted 16 years ago, and she's been a champion for children's safety ever since, so the issue is particularly salient. But here in Minnesota, miles away from Florida and Washington, a Democratic candidate shows Dems nationwide how to build the wave.
